Google Wave is Underwhelming
Is it just me or is the whole Google Wave thing a bit of a damp squib?
I was excited to get an invitation from @malbonnington last week.
Even though I have a handful of friends using it (without which it would be exceptionally lonely) it’s very underwhelming. I have received a few messages from other people who seem to feel the same way. They seem worried about saying so. Back in May, we were promised a surprise. We were promised a groundbreaking personal communication and collaboration tool in a “very early form”.
I am surprised - but not pleasantly. It’s rubbish isn’t it?
Bud Caddell made me laugh with this post, urging us to describe Google Wave as a “Total Balloon Boy”, which I have taken the liberty of inserting below:

Remember, every time someone says they don’t get Google Wave, a developer dies.

I’m reserving judgment until more people are on it and we see how it works. Also to see what other capabilities google might add in response to users. Send them your thoughts. This is the age of consumer influence.

reserving ?
We did see the developers preview did we ?
And its was a stunning alternative to the email thing, that is kinda outdated.
I was under the assumtion that the Google wave thing would change our ways to communicate.
But now i hear some altready tried it and well they are not as enthousias as me.
Im following edward on this one. And I will wait till i cant trie it.
(great post btw)

I found this post rather underwhelming. You don’t actually explain WHY you are unimpressed with Wave. With numerous articles and a detailed 90 minute video preview I’m unsure as to why you expecting to be surprised. If you’re looking for more than smug schadenfreude read Daniel Tenner’s article http://danieltenner.com/posts/0012-google-wave.html
