Hi, I have a railsless deploy gem that you might find useful, it strips out all the assumptions about deploying a rails application, and allows you to make better use of Capistrano for deploying PHP applications (or Perl, Pyhon, etc too) – you can find it here http://github.com/leehambley/railsless-deploy/
